This woman’s afro is record-breaking. Brooklynite Simone Williams’ afro has officially been certified the biggest in the world by the Guinness World Records. It measures in at 8.07 inches tall, 8.85 inches wide and over 4-foot-10-inches in circumference.

“I Googled ‘world’s largest afro’ and when she came up I was in awe,” Williams told Guinness of her reaction to Aevin Dugas, the previous record-holder, who inspired her to compete for the title. “At the time, I didn’t think my hair was anywhere close to hers, she was goals! But I was so happy to see that she was recognized and there was a chance for others to be recognized too.”

Dugas, a New Orleans-based social worker, held the title for eight years with her natural-grown ‘do, which measured 4-foot-4-inches in circumference.

He told Bulgarian TV channel BTV that it's been difficult to grow the moustache to 22 feet. This is not easy at all. It takes two to three hours grooming daily.' 'As soon as I wake up, the first thing I do is spread my moustache on the bed. Once I have done that I put some oil in a cup and I massage it with the oil. It takes around two hours to apply the oil.

The 24-year-old, known as Nature M.S., regards the bees as his 'best friends' and says they do not regard him as a threat. A brave nature-lover has risked his life by allowing 60,000 bees to cover his face - because they 'comfort him'. Nature M.S. has been around the buzzing insects all his life because his father Sajayakumar is an award-winning beekeeper and honey maker.

He started doing stunts with bees when he was just five and now regularly lets the pollinating insects free from their boxes to gather on his face. The agricultural student, from Thrissur in Kerala, India, insists he doesn't feel their stings because they are simply 'playful bites'.

Nature insists he can even go about his daily life with the bees buzzing around his head - and can read books, walk, and even dance with them in place. He said: 'I do it because I have developed a bond with the bees and their presence comforts me.

'I cannot recall ever being without the bees. At first, I was too small to differentiate between a bee and a fly. Bees have been like flies to be - no more harmful. 'Even before I learned that they can sting I had already built a bond with them so I never feel threatened by them and the feeling is mutual.

'I have been stung by bees many times but I never felt the pain. Those were like playful bites maybe. I can handle the bees with ease. In most cases, they don't bite me. 'I have dedicated my life to the well being and protection of bees. 'Through my stunt shows, I intend to create awareness about the bees' genteelness among the public.' His father said he fell in love with bees when he was 15 and his poor family had to steal fruit and honey from neighboring farms to survive. He now has 1,500 boxes each housing 60,000 bees. He said: 'My son is well experienced.' Nature is hoping to do a doctorate or Ph.D. in Agriculture with a focus on beekeeping.

Even experienced beekeepers can suffer dangerous allergic reactions - but the risk of stings on his lips or eyelids does not worry Nature, who says he is to blame for any stings rather than the bees. He said he was first introduced to the buzzing creatures by his father Sajayakumar who is himself an award-winning beekeeper and a honey maker. Nature - who has a brother with the bee-themed name of Nectar - said his first experience of being covered by bees was when he put a queen on his hand.

He said: 'Soon a swarm of buzzing insects crowded around as they covered my arm within 15 minutes. They were on my hand in search of the queen and to protect it. The next day I tried a similar stunt with the queen on my head and within moments my entire head and face got covered.' My father's advice always comes to my mind and eliminates any nervousness or fear.

'My father always advised me to be calm with the bees and treat them like a friend. He also asked me to take deep breaths and never lose patience or give in to fear. 'Initially, it was not that easy, but I never felt awkward ever, in fact, I felt awesome. 'There was no problem with them on my face at all and I could see everything, I even did a little walk and a dance.

'Right since the very first experience, I got attached to the honeybees. Even before I learned the fact that honeybee stings are dangerous, I had developed a special bond with them.' Nature said he has been stung by the bees, but it is his fault when it happens and not theirs.

He said: 'Without any fault of mine a bee would never sting me at all.' His affection towards bees has led him to pursue academic studies in apiculture and he is currently studying for a master's at a college in Bangalore, India. He dreams of pursuing a doctorate in this field to protect the bees and learn more about them and bee rearing.

Nature said: 'Honey is the favorite and the sweetest thing in the world for humans, everyone loves to have honey. 'Bees are my best friends and I wished others too can love my friends as I do. I and my father started campaigning about bee protection and the importance of beekeeping. 'People are often scared of bees because they sting. 'Honeybees are the key insects in society, it is our duty to protect them. Without honeybees, the earth could not sustain us all.'

Zany Artist Creates World's Largest Screw Mosaic

An Albanian artist says he's created the world's largest artwork made entirely from screws -- and no, he hasn't got a screw loose.

Saimir Strati last week spent countless hours individually screwing 300,000 industrial screws into a wooden board to create a giant 2.4m by 4.9m banknote.

The work -- which featured a portrait of the ancient Greek poet Homer in the centre -- is the fifth world record for Strati.

Coffee Cup Sized is Revealed

Some people like a big cup of coffee in the morning to wake them up. But not usually this big -- this is the world's biggest mug of java.

The 8 foot tall cup contains a massive 2,010 gallons of freshly brewed coffee - that's the same as 32,160 regular cups.

It took a team of people more than eight hours to brew all the coffee required, who were in turn powered by several cups of coffee.

The previous Guinness World Record for largest cup of coffee was set in 2007 at just 911.5 gallons… that's now a medium a Starbuck.

But the record breakers didn't stop there. They then added 3,500 pounds of enormous ice cubes to also set the record for the world's largest cup of iced coffee too.

A spokesperson for GourmetGiftBaskets.com which set the records said: "We wanted to break both records because we had this massive cup and thought, 'We'd be crazy not to'.

Madeleine McGregor, who jumped into the filled cup added: "It was a wild experience. Hopping into a frigid cup of iced coffee was one of the most exhilarating experiences, and a once in a lifetime opportunity."

Alik Gershon Chess Master Breaks Guinness Record

Alik Gershon Israeli chess grandmaster on Thursday began a marathon chess match against 520 players in an attempt to beat the Guinness record for simultaneous chess games, currently held by Iran.

The tournament began in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square with grandmaster Alik Gershon shaking hands with every single player as he walked along rows of tables lined with chess boards.

In order to set the world record, the Ukrainian-born Mr Gershon must win at least 80 per cent of the games.

"I'm going to be breaking the Guinness world record for the biggest simultaneous chess game. The record today belongs to an Iranian grandmaster on 500 boards," Mr Gershon told AFP.

"I'm going to make it 520 and hopefully I will win over 80 per cent of the games."

Training for the event, which is likely to continue through the night and into Friday morning, was purely physical and included a lot of jogging and swimming, the 30-year-old former Israeli champion said.

"There are a lot of kilometres to walk and you have to stay focused," he said, noting that his Iranian rival Morteza Mahjoob walked 40 kilometres (25 miles) to secure his record.

Mr Mahjoob set the current record of 500 games in August 2009 in a feat which took him 18 hours with less than five seconds for each move.

"Hopefully all our wars against Iran will be on the chess board," said a smiling Mr Gershon. "For such wars, I am prepared."
