Hiroto Kiritani - Coupon Man Surviving For 36 Years on Coupons

Hiroto Kiritani - Coupon Man Surviving For 36 Years on Coupons | Japan’s “Coupon Man” Has Been Living Almost Exclusively on Coupons for 36 Years | JAPANESE SHOGI PLAYER AND INVESTOR

We all love coupons and vouchers, but can you imagine living on them almost exclusively for almost four decades? A Japanese man claims to have been doing it for the last 36 years, adding that he hasn’t spent a yen of his own money during that time.

71-year-old Hiroto Kiritani is a minor celebrity in his home country of Japan. His ability to live comfortably on coupons without spending any money unless he really has to is legendary, and he has been invited on numerous television shows and events over the years. Kiritani says that he gets by without spending real money except for utilities and rent. But he’s not as frugal as you might think. He just manages to live comfortably on the coupons he receives from companies he invested in over the years.

Kiritani, who used to be a professional shogi (Japanese Chess), got into stock investment when he was 35. He was invited to teach the staff of an investment company called Tokyo Securities Kyowakai about shogi, and was fascinated by the idea of owning parts of various companies. He bought his first stock in 1984 and quickly developed a taste for it, encouraged by the stock bubble of the 1980s.

The 29-year-old comes from a tall family, with her father reaching 6ft 10in and her mother a slender 6ft 1in - but still struggled adapting to her height during her younger years. She confessed that finding 'cute' clothes has always been a challenge and hated constantly hitting her head on doorways. But after embracing her long legs, Ren now admits: 'I like to wear shorts and high heels, especially so my legs look more long. I love my long legs, and I think they make me more beautiful.'

The humble potato’s story began more than 10,000 years ago on the shores of Lake Titicaca, in present-day Peru. The Incas are believed to have been the first to cultivate potatoes all the way up in the Andes mountain range, at 3,800 meters above sea level.

Building Your Own Private Beach | Custom Private Pool

Building Your Own Private Beach | Custom Private Pool with sandy beaches

A Spanish company called Piscinas de Arena NaturSand builds sand pools — custom pools with sandy beaches — and if you already have a pool, it can convert it into a beach. The company claims that it can "provide an environment similar to that of a piece of natural beach."

Sounds amazing, right? A quick look at its Facebook page provides all the inspiration you need for your own backyard pool with a twist.

The company's sand pools are made of special concrete mixed with sand, which is reinforced to make it strong enough for the pool. More perks: the sand doesn't get hot, and you can get a customized pool built to suit your plot and dimensions. In some cases, weather-permitting, a sand pool can be built in only 30 days.

Seems like a great way to beat the heat this summer!

Piscinas de Arena NaturSand is based in Spain, but it provides construction or renovation of pools all over the world. The company has built more than 800 sand pools in over 14 different countries, including the US, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, and Morocco.

Your sand pool can have various depths and lighting styles, and it doesn't require a ladder. That's because the entrance of the pool is at ground level on a soft ramp — just like the entrance to the ocean at a beach. In terms of maintenance, the company's website says it's pretty much the same as a regular pool.

You have to get in touch with the company via their website to get a quote, and it's probably reasonable to assume a sand pool doesn't come cheap. But this is one investment that you can enjoy regardless of what's going on elsewhere in the world, right?

Naomi Lovell Waitress Who Was Bullied In School Becomes A Model

A 6ft 7in woman who was bullied throughout school because of her height has had the last laugh after being scouted as a model. Naomi Lovell, 22, from Doncaster, Yorkshire, receives unwanted sexual attention on social media because of her striking stature, but is 'thrilled' to finally be channelling her physicality into something positive. From a young age, Naomi - who was already towering over her peers at 6ft 2in aged just 13 - has even had to get used to strangers staring and tapping her legs to 'check if she is on stilts'. She feels her height has stood in the way of her love life - because 'society dictates that men are the taller in a couple' - and she has never had a boyfriend.

An amazing Pencil & Eraser Touching Story

Pencil: I'm sorry

Eraser: For what? You didn't do anything wrong.

Pencil: I'm sorry because you get hurt because of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you're always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.

Eraser: That's true. But I don't really mind. You see, I was made to do this. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though one day, I know I'll be gone and you'll replace me with a new one, I'm actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad.

I found this conversation between the pencil and the eraser very inspirational. Parents are like the eraser whereas their children are the pencil. They're always there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes. Sometimes along the way, they get hurt, and become smaller / older, and eventually pass on. Though their children will eventually find someone new (spouse), but parents are still happy with what they do for their children, and will always hate seeing their precious ones worrying, or sad.

All my life, I've been the pencil. And it pains me to see the eraser that is my parents getting smaller and smaller each day. For I know that one day, all that I'm left with would be eraser shavings and memories of what I used to have.

Unique sink concept idea to save water

Unique sink concept, designed by Yan Lu, encourages users to save water.

When in use, the level of water in the fishbowl gradually decreases (but never fully drains out); it will go back to normal once you turn off the water. To protect the fish and provide clean tap water, the bowl is connected to its own dedicated pipeline.

How to Make a Paper Spike Bow | Tutorials paper craft

This fun little paper craft is something my grandmother taught me to make as a small child. I usually make one when I want to add a special touch to a wrapped gift. They also look pretty sitting on a shelf or turned into a fridge magnet. Make a Paper Spike Bow
Here is what you need:
Wrapping paper or craft paper, glue- any craft glue that dries clear,
a sharpened pencil, scissors, a cup or other circular object to trace around,
a damp cloth to wipe up the glue that you are sure to get on your fingers!

Trace & cut out several circles from your paper, 5 or 6 should do. Make a Paper Spike Bow Fold each circle in half, half again, and again (you will have 8 sections).
Cut on each fold line about 3/4 of the way, leaving the center in tact.
Make a Paper Spike Bow Roll each cut section by holding the pencil at an angle to one corner.
As you roll the paper around the pencil it will make a cone.
Add a dab of glue near the end. If your paper is heavy,
you may have to hold it in place for a moment so the glue can set.
This is where I get glue all over my fingers and
use the damp cloth to keep clean.
Make a Paper Spike Bow Now you are ready to assemble your bow!
Layer each circle one on top of the next with a dab of glue.
Be sure to off set each layer so the points land in between the
previous layer's points. When you get to the very middle,
use the eraser end of your pencil to stick the last layer in place.
Make a Paper Spike Bow What a nice way to top off a gift! Make a Paper Spike Bow

Believe it or not, Steve Wozniak has spent the last 10 years, and $75,000 traveling to 63 different countries in the search for new species of fish to put on his list. He flew over 1 million air miles, and spent over 20,000 hours holding his trusty rod and hoping for a bite.
