Hyper Realistic Cakes Designs By Natalie Sideserf | Sideserf Cake Studio

Natalie Marie Sideserf (née Elliott; born January 7, 1985) is an American artist, teacher and celebrity chef specializing in hyperrealistic cake sculpting techniques. Sideserf has received national and global acclaim for her realistic designs. In 2014, Food Network declared Sideserf as "one of the most talented young cake artists in the country at the forefront of realistic cake decorating."

Born in Brunswick, Ohio, she holds a bachelor's degree in Fine Art with a concentration in painting from The Ohio State University.

Natalie and her husband Dave Sideserf are hosts of Texas Cake House on Food Network. The series highlights Sideserf Cake Studio and the incredibly realistic, sculpted cakes Natalie painstakingly creates for clients using her fine art background. In this series, Natalie and Dave give an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run a successful business with a spouse

“The inside is made of layers of vanilla cake and swiss buttercream,” explains Natalie, owner of Sideserf Cake Studio. “Once carved, the entire cake is covered in a layer of chocolate ganache and a final layer of modeling chocolate to sculpt the details.”

The cake was featured on a promotional video clip on the AMC network. It’s not the first time Natalie’s cakes have gone viral. She made her breakthrough with a hyper-realistic cake of Willie Nelson. She also became popular for her “till death do us part” wedding cake modeled after her own severed head.
