Andoni Bastarrika - Realistic Sand Sculptures Of Animals

Andoni Bastarrika - Ultra Realistic Sand Sculptures Of Animals | Artist Creates Amazingly Realistic Sand Sculptures

Andoni Bastarrika, a multi-media artist from Spain’s Basque Country, has been getting a lot of attention for his ultra-realistic animal sculptures made almost exclusively with sand.

Bastarrika has been entertaining beach-goers in his native Basque Country region for almost a decade now, but he only recently garnered international acclaim, after a photo of one of his sand sculptures – a life-size sitting bull – recently went viral on Reddit. People couldn’t stop talking about how lifelike the sculpture looked, from the subtle muscle definition to the hair-like sand detailing on its forehead. Soon photos of other of Bastarrika’s realistic sand animals started circulating on various social media networks.

The Basque artist reportedly started experimenting with sand sculptures in 2010, as a way of entertaining children when going to the beach. The feedback was so positive that he started focusing on this newly discovered art form more, developing his own techniques as he progressed. Before he knew it, he had made a name for himself as a sand sculptor and even supplementing his summer income.

Blue Eyes People - Discover Indonesian Tribe in Buton Island | Indonesian Tribe With Beautiful Blue Eyes Photographed | Rare Electric Blue Eyes - Waardenburg Syndrome | Meet The Buton Tribe Of Indonesia

An indigenous tribe on an Indonesian island who have uniquely piercing blue eyes due to a genetic fluke have been captured in a stunning set of photographs. The Buton people are from Indonesia's 19th largest island, Buton Island, which is located in the southeast Sulawesi region of Indonesia.

They are divided into several smaller tribes of which some have a rare condition known as Waardenburg Syndrome, which affects pigmentation. This leaves them with electric blue eyes, something that is extremely rare in Indonesia, where most people have dark hair and dark eyes. The Waardenburg syndrome is a hereditary genetic mutation that is estimated to be present in a some form in 1 in 42,000 people.

In addition to its sometimes startling effect on eye pigmentation, including causing eyes of different colours, it can also lead to a loss of hearing. The Buton tribe was photographed by Korchnoi Pasaribu, a geologist from the capital of Jakarta, Indonesia, during a visit to the island.

Sharks Facts | Surprising Facts You Need to Know About Sharks

Sharks Facts | Surprising Facts You Need to Know About Sharks | Shark Facts That May Surprise You | Shocking Facts about Sharks for kids

Sharks Fish are a group of elasmobranch fish characterized by a cartilaginous skeleton, five to seven gill slits on the sides of the head, and pectoral fins that are not fused to the head. Modern sharks are classified within the clade Selachimorpha and are the sister group to the rays.

However, the term "shark" has also been used for extinct members of the subclass Elasmobranchii outside the Selachimorpha, such as Cladoselache and Xenacanthus, as well as other Chondrichthyes such as the holocephalid eugenedontidans.

The earliest known sharks date back to more than 420 million years ago. Acanthodians are often referred to as "spiny sharks"; though they are not part of Chondrichthyes proper, they are a paraphyletic assemblage leading to cartilaginous fish as a whole. Since then, sharks have diversified into over 500 species.

Yahav Draizin - Smartphone Photography Reality Vs Imagination

Yahav Draizin - Smartphone Photography Reality Vs Imagination | Imagination Using His Smart Phone - Bring Everyday Objects To Life | Bring Everyday Objects To Life With My Smartphone | This Guy Plays With Your Imagination Using His Phone | This Guy Removes The Line Between Reality And Imagination

Artist Name is Yahav Draizin, and I work in advertising. I'm constantly looking for inspiration. Using my phone, I match images from popular culture and beyond to places, people, and objects to bring them to life, but with a fun twist. All photos are taken in real locations using two smartphones and no Photoshop or editing.

Photography has been my hobby since I was a little boy. I love it because it allows me to be creative and explore different angles and different stories that others don’t always see.

I think it’s a fun way to make an ordinary situation extraordinary, to make magic by combining two different things into a whole new story. A smartphone is something we all carry all day and it allows me to take this kind of photo spontaneously on the spot whenever an idea comes. I always carry two phones to do this.

Romeo Cox - Boy Walks 1,700 Miles From Sicily To London In Lockdown | 10-year-old boy walks 2,800 KM from Palermo to London to see his granny

Earlier this year Romeo had looked forward to spending his summer holidays in London with his paternal grandmother, who is in poor health, however the coronavirus lockdown and travel restrictions at the time prevented him from flying.

After much heartbreak and pleading on the part of Romeo, it was decided that he would make the 2,800-km journey to London by foot, along with his father Phil, a journalist and documentary maker. Their adventures were documented along the way on social media, under the title Romeo's Big Journey Home, with Romeo inviting his followers to raise money for the Refugee Education Across Conflicts Trust (REACT), a charitable association run by his mother Giovanna.

Edible Food Art Decorative With Fresh Fruit And Vegetables

Edible Food Art Decorative With Fresh Fruit And Vegetables

Edible art refers to food created to be art. It is distinguished from Edible Arrangements (which predominantly consist of fruit) because it is usually more elaborate dessert food. A common form of edible art is wedding cakes, but options for artistic confections range far beyond marital celebrations. Cakes made into art include birthday cakes, cakes for baby showers, for graduation celebrations, and many other types of event.

Each piece looks unique, even if created for the same event, because each creator has their own idea in mind when creating their food art. Such pieces of art can be created using a cake base onto which the decorations are placed on, or they can be made purely out of fondant or sugar, while edible, is not created with consumption intended, such as Mexican Calavera

I took an interest in food from a very young age. By twelve, I was already cooking family meals as a way to help my father after a long day of work. The love for food that started at twelve has developed into different activities over time. Providing nutritious homemade meals—predominantly made from fruit and vegetables—is a daily task. "Edible Food Art for Kids," on the other hand, is an outlet to relax after a hard day’s work while making a snack for the family.

Nadezhda Bushuyeva was convinced by her mother that the outside world is in fact a very dangerous place. It is unclear if something had happened to her mother at some point in her life and that’s why she kept her daughter inside all those years or not. It could also just be the remote area of Russia that they live in and possibly it wasn’t safe there.

A Russian woman who was trapped in a house by her mother for 26 years has revealed that she ate cat food and stale bread in order to stay alive. The 42-year-old woman had been shut away by her mother - who claimed to be 'protecting' her - for more than half of her life, before she turned up at a local council office in Russia asking for a job and an identity document.

Nadezhda Bushuyeva had not seen the outside world since she left school 26 years earlier, except for one trip to a clinic in 2006. She was fed on cat food and kept inside until her mother, a retired shop assistant called Tatiana, became ill and required hospital treatment.

Puppy Shaped Cake - Mid-Autumn Festival Cakes in Tradition

Puppy Shaped Cake Mid-Autumn Festival is a Vietnamese tradition | Puppies Cake | Coolest Homemade Dog Cakes

According to the idea, in the old days, there was always a close relationship between life and the moon: the full moon and crescent moon can interchangeably mean joy and sorrow, reunion, gathering, and a farewell. The full moon is a symbol of reunion, and the Mid-Autumn Festival is also alternatively called the reunion. This is also the occasion to care, show gratitude to parents and friends, to reunite, and love again.

Mid-Autumn Festival is a Vietnamese tradition closely related to the worship of the Moon. So, on the Mid-Autumn Festival, according to Vietnamese custom, all family members put the feast tray on the altar to worship the moon (pray to heaven and earth). Families gather together, enjoy tea, eat cake, and look at the moon; children dance while singing, walk with the lamp, and dance with the dragon.

Sergio Odeith - Street Artist Paints 3D Creature Arts Graffiti

Sergio Odeith - Street Artist Paints 3D Creature Arts Graffiti | Mind-Bending 3D Art Pieces By Portuguese Graffiti Artist | Amazing 3D Street Art Realistic Graffiti | Amazing 3D Murals That Jump Off The Walls

Talk about graffiti artists today, and you'll find they have shed some of the street arts old stigmas. The once-rogue street art genre has been welcomed into the traditional art world, and when you look at the fantastic 3D street art of Sergio Odeith, it's easy to see why.

The Portuguese artist started creating realistic art in the '90s when it was first gaining prominence in the country. He started with simple sketches on street walls and train tracks but then advanced into large-scale 3D drawings. Odeith continued to evolve and adopted the obscure signature style, which he refers to as "sombre 3D." This technique combines angles, lines, and shadows to create an extraordinary 3D art effect. In 2005 he gained international recognition for his anamorphic art series and realistic drawings, which looked like something out of a science horror fiction flick, with giant spiders appearing to climb off the walls at helpless passers-by.

Not surprisingly, the Lisbon-based muralist has since been asked to design pieces across the pond in the U.S cities of Baton Rouge, L.A, Charleston and Lexington and has even received business contracts with major corporations like Coca-Cola, Samsung, and Shell.

Hannah Bullen-Ryner Beautiful Birds Composed From Flowers and Leaves

Hannah Bullen-Ryner Beautiful Birds Composed From Flowers and Leaves | The Botanical Bird Art | Artist Uses Leaves And Flowers To Create Mesmerizing Bird Portraits

Whether we've already discovered them or not, we all have our own ways of finding inner peace. For Hannah Bullen-Ryner, it comes through reconnecting with Mother Earth.

Bullen-Ryner composes beautiful birds using only natural materials found locally and no permanent fixings. Scavenging her surroundings, she puts together flowers, leaves, twigs, and berries to form delicate portraits either on the woodland floor or under one small oak. When she's done, they last only a few moments before nature starts reclaiming them. Luckily, that brief period of time is enough for Hannah to photograph her artworks, or as she calls it, offerings to Mother Nature. Soon after, they get taken by the breeze, rearranged by the rain, or wriggled through by an insect and leave no trace behind.

The artist says she creates to share her love for nature and to soothe her soul, and you can definitely feel it in the photos of her ephemeral pieces.

Bullen-Ryner is both an artist and someone who appreciates nature, having been outdoors her whole life. "Originally a painter and photographer, I have always found art to be cathartic, a way to let it all out, a way to express what couldn't be said "Equally, I have always felt deeply connected to the Earth and to her magic and her ability to soothe a weary soul."

Toonify Turns Yourself Photos Into Pixar Cartoon Characters

Toonify Turns Yourself Photos Into Pixar Cartoon Characters | This Toonify yourself | Justin Pinkney App That Turns People Into Pixar-Like Cartoon Characters Gets The Internet Buzzing

You've probably heard what crazy stuff AI, machine learning, and deep learning technologies are capable of. Like creating portraits of people who don’t exist, or making a 15th-century Renaissance painting out of your picture, or turning your static single selfie into a living image. Sounds crazy, because it is, but it turns out, this is not all.

Two programmers and AI enthusiasts, Justin Pinkney and Doron Adler, have just created a new mind-bending "toonification" system that basically turns your portrait into a cute cartoon character. Thanks to deep learning, the algorithm fine-tunes the original face and blends it with a cartoon model, keeping the identities the same, but the features cartoonish.

Apparently, their “Toonify” website got so much attention on social media, with people flocking to the website to toonify their selfies, that the costs got out of hand and the team had to temporarily turn off the server.

While they’re working on bringing it back to us, let’s take a look at some of the most amusing cartoon transformations down below so that you'll have time to decide whether to go for Elsa from Frozen, or stick to the Nemo makeover.

Pareidolia - Seeing Faces in Inanimate Objects | Everyday Things

Pareidolia - Seeing Faces in Inanimate Objects | Faces Everywhere We Look | The Fascinating Science Behind Why We See 'Faces' In Objects | Seeing Faces in Unusual Places

Pareidolia is the tendency for incorrect perception of a stimulus as an object, pattern or meaning known to the observer, such as seeing shapes in clouds, seeing faces in inanimate objects or abstract patterns, or hearing hidden messages in music. Pareidolia can be considered a subcategory of apophenia.

Common examples are perceived images of animals, faces, or objects in cloud formations, the Man in the Moon, the Moon rabbit, and other lunar pareidolia. The concept of pareidolia may extend to include hidden messages in recorded music played in reverse or at higher- or lower-than-normal speeds, and hearing indistinct voices in random noise such as that produced by air conditioners or fans.

Pareidolia was at one time considered a symptom of human psychosis, but it is now seen as a normal human tendency.

Pareidolia is not confined to humans. Scientists have for years taught computers to use visual clues to "see" faces and other images.

Surprising Facts About Moon | Interesting Moon Facts For Kids

Surprising Facts About Moon | Interesting Moon Facts For Kids

The Moon is an astronomical body orbiting Earth and is the planet's only natural satellite. It is the fifth-largest satellite in the Solar System, and by far the largest among planetary satellites relative to the size of the planet that it orbits. The Moon is, after Jupiter's satellite Io, the second-densest satellite in the Solar System among those whose densities are known.

The Moon is thought to have formed about 4.51 billion years ago, not long after Earth. The most widely accepted explanation is that the Moon formed from the debris left over after a giant impact between Earth and a hypothetical Mars-sized body called Theia. New research of Moon rocks, although not rejecting the Theia hypothesis, suggests that the Moon may be older than previously thought.

Not far from Minsk, in Ratomka town, you may find a very interesting house. Locals are afraid to pass it by not only at night but during the daytime too. The things that frighten people most are the hands sticking out of the fence, the arbor and dome that are laid out in skulls.

“The owner of the house is a Belarusian businessman with a rich imagination. His car reflects this as well being tuned out with engravings of skulls,” – says one local man. “He started building the house ten years ago but then stopped. Two years ago he resurfaced again and continued construction.” “Soon the skulls will be glowing in the darkness или just like devils on the roof,” – expects one local woman.

Jane Gottlieb - Color Obsessed Artist Turn Into Rainbow House

Jane Gottlieb - Color Obsessed Artist Turn Into Rainbow House | Owner turns 'boring' beige homes into rainbow House

Jane Gottlieb's turned her boring sea-view home in Santa Barbara, California into a work of art but says 'nobody in the neighbourhood really likes it because they all have these beige Mediterranean houses' A colour-obsessed artist who transformed her "beige and boring" mansion into a rainbow oasis spends £4,000 a year on painting the colourful house inside and out - despite admitting her neighbours disapprove.

Jane Gottlieb, 70, spent two months transforming the detached sea-view home in Santa Barbara, California, from run-of-the-mill to a "piece of art", featuring nine different colours on it's exterior alone, and dozens more inside.

But maintaining the bright abode is a costly task, with a $5,000 (£4,085) paint job needed once a year to stop the colours from fading in the harsh sunlight - resulting in the house becoming even bolder each time a new lick of paint is added.

Renowned artist Jane, who has showcased her work all over the world, said her four-bedroom home leaves visitors stunned and smiling, with passers-by dubbing it the "rainbow house''.

I Create Wearable Artistic Scarfs Inspired By Owls, Ravens, Swans, And Other Majestic Birds I dream so often that I can fly that I have moments where I’m not quite sure if my flying skills are a fantasy or a fact. In one memorable dream, I was The Goddess of Colour, flying over a landscape of kaleidoscope hues. I felt lost until a voice whispered, “Purple is the way home.” As I flew over fields of lavender, I transformed into a Raven.

In another dream, I became The Guardian of the Gateway. I held a staff while wearing a cloak of gold, fashioned into feathers. I sailed through the galaxy on a galleon ship carried by seven white, sea snake dragons. I was part human, part Barn Owl. Driven to capture, record, and share my wild encounters and dream time experiences, I explored ideas on canvas merging human form and bird. These flat pieces were lifeless, static, and detached from the viewer.

People In The Streets Of Rio de Janeiro During Brazil Carnival

People In The Streets Of Rio de Janeiro During Brazil Carnival

The Carnival in Rio de Janeiro is a festival held every year before Lent and considered the biggest carnival in the world with two million people per day on the streets. The first Carnival festival in Rio occurred in 1723.

For years now, I have been photographing people during the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Despite what most people know, the best part of Carnival is not the samba schools, but the street blocks where people put on costumes and makeup, and party all day long.

Being a participant of the Carnival in the street blocks for over 20 years, I created a project called Humanos do Carnaval (Humans of Carnival), and for 5 years, I have been taking portraits. Hope you enjoy them!

Dwarf Couple - Charli Worgan and Cullen Became Dwarfism Family

Dwarf Couple - Charli Worgan and Cullen Adams Became Dwarfism Family share their lives with the world | Family Of 3 Who All Have Dwarfism Become Internet Sensation

This tiny family has gone viral online thanks to their heartwarming photos shared online. Charli Worgan, 27, is 1.3 meters tall and her husband Cullen Adams is 1.4 meters tall. After getting married, they welcomed their first child, Tilba. Whether it's beach trips, lunches in the sun, workouts or walks, the pictures show this family is like everyone else. Charli is currently pregnant with her second child.

She has achondroplasia, which is the most common type. He has geleophysic dysplasia, a much rarer form that comes with many more health concerns. Because they each have different forms of dwarfism, Charli and Cullen’s offspring have a one-in-four chance of having a baby of average height; a baby having either type of dwarfism; or a baby with both forms of dwarfism, which could, unfortunately, be fatal.
