People Before And After Smile | Smiling People Around The World

Photos Of People Before And After They Were Asked To Smile | People Before And After Smile | Smiling People Around The World

The Dalai Lama said, "A simple smile. That’s the start of opening your heart and being compassionate to others." Smiles have the ability to change one's whole day, and not only to the one that's smiling, but also to those who see a smile. It's just a simple expression, and yet it may be the most powerful, as it's the most positive one.

Jay Weinstein tests this idea in his project "so I asked them to smile" with an extremely diverse group of people, and the answer behind each and every one of his pictures is that a smile changes everything—not only the mood, but even the whole picture. His pictures also show that a smile is unique to every individual and that it's sometimes hard to know how beautiful they look when they smile until they do.

Mom And Dad Transforms Her Home Into A Disney Fairytale House in Florida

Florida may have Disneyland but the Hermansons have the coolest Disney house. Yes, that’s right, the family are so into Disney, they have dedicated their entire house to it.

And they’re enjoying every step of the process. Kelsey Hermansons said she buys some of her Disney decor, but usually creates her own designs for their home.

“I find a lot of things for my rooms at thrift stores,” she told BuzzFeed. “I also buy some things from The Disney Store, but, mostly, I make things myself. Sometimes I buy things from other artists on ETSY if I can’t make it myself.”

Nicobar Pigeon - Most Beautiful Colorful Bird Species Pigeons

Nicobar Pigeon - Most Beautiful Colorful Bird Species Pigeons from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India

The Nicobar Pigeon is one of the most beautiful of the many species of pigeons or doves and is the only living member of the genus Caloenus. It is found in the Islands of Nicobar, south west peninsular Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Solomans and palau. Once known to be found in abundance in its range, their numbers in the wild are declining as they are frequently captured for pet trade and hunted for food.

Slightly larger than other pigeons at 40 cm, it has a dark slaty grey body with lustrous metallic blue-green and copper-bronze upperparts. It can easily be distinguished by its glistening mane-like neck hackles and sharply contrasting white tail coverts and tail. Females are smaller in size than males with shorter neck hackles and brown under parts. Youngs are born dull grey without the neck hackles and a bronzy green tail instead of white.

It is known to remain solitary as well as is found in flocks of 20-30. Though its flight is swift and powerful, and capable of sustaining long distances, it prefers to feed entirely on the ground, picking fleshy fruits and seeds off the forest floor. When in groups, they communicate with each other by uttering harsh guttural croaks. During the breeding season from January to March, females make nests by loosely putting together twigs high up on evergreen trees, where they can safely lay eggs.

Totoro Bus Stop - Japan Grandparents Create Life Size Totoro

Totoro Bus Stop - Japanese Grandparents Create Life-Size Totoro

Totoro is a hallmark character created by Studio Ghibli, Japan's beloved animation studio. The plump bodied, wide smiling magical creature’s most iconic image is that of him waiting for an unusual bus in the rain. The magic of that scene (featured in the 1988 film My Neighbor Totoro) has been a spark of nostalgia, imagination, and inspiration for a variety of creatives. Such is the case for a pair of grandparents in Takaharu, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. The couple—who is in their 70s—decided to recreate the magic of the film by designing a Totoro replica for their grandchildren.

The project was handmade and demonstrated the couple’s exceptional skill in carpentry and their impeccable attention to detail. By using some traditional plastering techniques, the barrel-like frame for the future statue was constructed first. This was followed by layers of concrete and a lengthy process of sculpting. Bricks were then added to help create the signature plumpness of the magical gray beast’s frame. Even more concrete was layered on and with careful sculpting, the memorable, bold eyes and whiskers started to emerge. The couple finished up the project by adding a brick and gravel path around the structure and placed the iconic bus stop sign.

Black Diamond Apples Rare Fruits | Apple Sweeter Than Honey

Black Diamond Apples Rare Fruits breed | family of Hua Nia Apple Sweeter Than Honey in the Tibetan region of Nyingchi

The Black Diamond Apple is a rare breed from the family of Hua Nia apples that is cultivated in the Tibetan region of Nyingchi. Despite what the name suggests, the apple rather is a purple hue, with white pulp on the inside. Its unique Dark color is due to the region's high altitude. The temperature fluctuates wildly between day and night, with the apples being exposed to a lot of ultraviolet light, which is conducive to the dark skin. Belonging to the high-end segment of the market, the average Black Diamond Apple costs about 50 yuan. Many farmers are reluctant to grow the fruit, since its maturity process can take up to eight years.

Apples are generally red, green, yellow or a combination of the three, but if the right geographical conditions are met, they can apparently grow dark purple, almost black, as well. These rare apples are called Black Diamond and they are currently only grown in the mountains of Tibet.

Sunburn People Any time your skin is not protected by sunscreen or clothes and gets too much sun, it can burn or tan.

sun is extremely dangerous, and prolonged exposure may lead to permanent skin damage and even skin cancer. Don’t forget to always use sunscreen, and seek medical attention immediately in case you get a severe sunburn.

Making Art with Recycled Plastic Waste to Bring Awareness

Here are some Making artworks created purely from our plastic waste to raise awareness for single-use plastic pollution.

Most conventional plastic crap is made from non-biodegradable petrochemicals—instead of decomposing over time, it simply breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces (micro-plastics).

Since the 1950’s, plastic has become a popular material in the world: used in endless ways, found in countless items, and often made to be discarded and disregarded in mere minutes.

Since the majority of plastic is non-biodegradable, plastic waste has only accumulated over time, affecting our physical health and environment. In an effort to bring awareness to this issue and to keep some plastic from going into landfills or the ocean, I make art from plastic waste. What can we do to make a change?

Spread awareness, be mindful of plastic consumption, demand more plastic be made biodegradable—buying only plastic items that are. Be creative about making a change!

Smile Mask - Staff Wears Smiling Face Masks in Japanese Takeya Shop Launches ‘Smile Masks’ To Make Customers Think That The Staff Is More Friendly

One unintended side effect of wearing masks all the time in public is that it's harder to politely greet people because a full half of your face is covered! You often can't tell if someone is smiling or grimacing behind that piece of cloth.

One store in Japan has come up with a way to make sure everyone knows their employees are always cheery. They call them "smile masks," and, well, that's exactly what they are. The employees of Takeya have been wearing masks that display a picture of a smile — a male smile for male employees and a female smile for the women who work there.

And you can't deny that it totally works! If I walked into a store after seeing only masked people all day and I saw that cheery man smiling back at me, my mood would instantly be lifted!

Old RV Van Vehicles Transform Into Tiny Homes on Wheels House

Janeway Bought An Old RV And Transformed It Into A Beautiful modern Home For Me And Two Kittens That I Recently Adopted. After trading some emails with a salesman and putting down a $1000 non-refundable deposit

It must have been love at first sight. I’d like to describe it that way, but the reality is I hadn’t seen her yet. Not really. I’d only found a listing at the bottom of a list of used RVs at a dealership 200 miles away, close to the Texas border. A 1995 Chevy Seven Seas Cobra, 36,000ish miles. I’d been looking for months, and something in my heart told me this was the one. This was my transformation project.

Layers of dust coated the carpet. There were spots with water damage and mold. Thankfully, the appliances worked, and though I was later to find out the A/C in the cab was out, the housing unit A/C was fine and the engine ran well.
