Hilarious Building of Bad Design | Bad Construction Designs

Hilarious Building of Bad Design | Bad Construction Designs

Not everyone is born with the magic touch for remodeling. This, of course, is why a whole range of specialists exist: architects, designers, contractors, the guy who makes the cabinets and the guy who installs them (nope, his name isn’t Dad). As with most industries, though, some skilled professionals are less skilled than others.

Take any one of the masterminds behind the following home improvement snafus, which range from head-scratching and unsightly to downright dangerous. The optimists among us might describe these creations as “complex,” perhaps “experimental.” But what exactly was the hypothesis? That no one would notice the flagpole in the middle of the driveway? That a toilet in the dining room might be the future of home convenience?

Takao Shito - Farmer Lives in the Middle of Narita Airport Japan

Takao Shito is a farmer living in the Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan. Unlike other farmers who left when the airport was built in the 1960s, he chose to stay and continue to cultivate his farmland.

You can't choose your neighbours, as Japanese organic farmer Takao Shito knows all too well after a decades-long battle against Narita - the country's second busiest airport.

His farm is virtually surrounded by Narita airport, and jets from around the world roar down right next door to his rows of peas and radishes, whose green leaves wave in the spring breeze.

"You get used to the noise," the soft-spoken 68-year-old told Agence France-Pressse on his farm, most of which is only accessible via tunnels underneath the airport.

"These are pieces of land farmed by three generations for nearly a century, by my grandfather, my father and myself. I want to continue living here and farm," he said. His fight, along with a handful of other families, has proved a major headache for Narita, which marks its 40th anniversary this year. The airport is Tokyo's main international gateway and handles 40 million passengers and 250,000 flights a year.

These startling 1970s New York photos reveal a city undergoing an unparalleled transformation fueled by economic collapse and rampant crime. Before Times Square was a global attraction, it was home to sex shops and drug dealers, earning a reputation as the sketchiest part of New York City.

Some people come here to enjoy the Broadway shows; others come specifically to shop and dine; and many come simply to see the sites: the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, historic neighborhoods, and numerous world famous museums. Many of the best places to visit in New York are within walking distance of each other, or just a short ride away, making this city a delight for sightseeing.

The mullet is a hairstyle in which the hair is short at the front and sides, but long at the back. It is usually worn by men.

Mullets were worn by rock stars David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Keith Richards, and Paul McCartney in the early 1970s. When writing Neil Peart's eulogy in January 2020, Greg Prato asserted Peart had a mullet, based on his observations of a 1974 video, further suggesting "he also may have been one of the first rockers to sport another hairstyle – the rattail", based on a 1985 video, "The Big Money"

In the 2020s a variant of the hairstyle called the "modern mullet" gained popularity with influencers and celebrities such as Billie Eilish and Miley Cyrus. Male "modern mullet" hairstyles are characterised by long back hair, short side hair and medium length front and top hair.

Buchette Del Vino - Old Tradition Wine Windows in Florence

They are called Buchette del vino or wine windows allow bartenders to safely and easily pass beverages from little wooden doors to customers in Florence

From the 14th Century to the 18th, the world was undergoing a pandemic not unlike ours, the Bubonic Plague, also known as Black Death, managed to wipe out 1/3 of Europe’s population once the spread began. The disease originated in Asia and made its way across the continent to Italy in the Middle Ages.

We have made great advancements in medicine and healthcare since then, but there are still some similarities that can be drawn. In the 1600s, when the plague had taken a strong hold of Italy, people came up with the concept of ‘wine windows’ or ‘Buchette del Vino’. They were small, pint-sized windows, built into walls of wineries and shops, that allowed people to buy and sell wine while still exercising caution and following social distancing.

Known to locals as the “skinny house” or the “pie house,” this Illinois two-bedroom has people across the world baffled as to how anybody could actually live inside.

But with this house, looks are deceiving. From one side, the iconic house looks like it’s almost just a facade of a house, but it has 1,122 square feet of living space tucked away inside — including 2.5 bathrooms.

So while it’s not quite as oddly skinny as some pictures would have you believe, the inside of the house is still fairly slim and would take careful planning regarding furniture placement.

The main level has an open floor plan (including hardwood floors) that really makes the most of the odd space and the house also includes all the regular features like air conditioning, a dishwasher and a washer / dryer.

Artists Created Landscapes Scenery Arts Using Wool Painting

Artists Created Landscapes Scenery Arts Using Wool Painting

I often get told that my pictures are so lifelike that they think it’s a photo. That is the response that I hope for. In doing what I do, I hope to convince the observer that using wool instead of paint is a genuine art form and a wonderful medium to use, and not just a craft.

I have been creating felt landscapes using various types of wool for 4 years now. The pictures are made by wet and needle felting the wool fibers together using soap, water, and lots of agitation. I love being out in nature and I often use where I live in Scotland as inspiration for my creations.

Stone Balancing Tower | Rock Balancing Arts By Miha Brinovec

Stone Balancing Tower | Rock Balancing Arts By Miha Brinovec

Rock balancing or stone balancing (stone or rock stacking) is an art, discipline, or hobby in which rocks are naturally balanced on top of one another in various positions without the use of adhesives, wires, supports, rings or any other contraptions which would help maintain the construction's balance.

The number of rock piles created in this manner in natural areas has recently begun to worry conservationists because they can misdirect hikers, expose the soil to erosion, aesthetically intrude upon the natural landscape, and serve no purpose.

Artist Miha Brinovec, 43, from Braslovce, Slovenia, does not use any adhesives to stick together the rocks. Instead, he carefully calculates how best to balance his stones in the most surprising ways. The amateur photographer insists the practice helps him to meditate and feel closer to nature.

Hyper Realistic Colored Pencil Drawing by Sheila R Giovanni

Hyper-Realistic Colored Pencil Drawing by Sheila R Giovanni

Brazilian artist Sheila R Giovanni strikes again with a new batch of hyper-realistic drawings made using her specialty “colored pencils“. Sheila’s incredible attention to detail in her craft allows her work to be almost indiscernible from a photograph.

Sheila R Giovanni spends more than 100 hours on each project, and her attention to detail is strikingly evident. Thanks to carefully placed shading, ultrathin lines and a remarkably steady hand, Sheila’s designs look as if they’re going to jump right off the page. They’re so immaculate, in fact, that her Instagram audience is calling her an ‘art genius’ and ‘insane’ over the amount of dedication she puts into hers penciled portraits.
