A woman has run an incredible five minute 25 second mile - all while nine months pregnant. Watch her husband cheer her on:

Makenna Myler, 28, has been dedicated to fitness for years, but she has really put all of us to shame by achieving the incredible feat. Not only did she get the incredible time in the midst of a pandemic, but also while almost full term with her unborn baby, which is due on 19 October.

To give a bit of context - a non-competitive fairly health runner would usually be able to complete a mile in around nine to ten minutes on average. New runners would probably come in at between 12 and 15 minutes. Elite marathon runners wuld do a mile in about four to five minutes.

Aussie native Makenna realised that she could push herself further than she thought. she said: "Honestly I had no idea I'd be capable of running that time by the end of my pregnancy. I took everything week by week. "I love trying so by the time nine months rolled around, I thought 'why not?' I don't HAVE to do anything, I GET to do it. That mindset makes it more fun."

Makenna's pregnancy certainly meant that she had to change up her routine.She said: "My training regime changed a ton to accommodate growing another human. I went from double days and three intense workouts a week to one a days and maybe one workout a week, if that.

"Sometimes it was just easy running. A lot of letting my body dictate recovering over working hard." Makenna's training has the approval of medical professionals. She added: "My first doctor was very supportive. Then we moved. My second doctor was a bit more cautious. Then we had an ultrasound. Everything looked great and he's given me the green light ever since."

For any other women wanting to stay fit through their pregnancy, Makenna emphasises the importance of balance. She explained: "Revel in the beauty of recovery and being at peace with small efforts, but also know you are so much more capable than you think you are." Of course, all women are advised to consult with their doctor before starting any new training while pregnant.
